SVPI Airport is located in Hansol, Ahmedabad, a key industrial and economic hub of India
Ahmedabad City has emerged as an important economic and industrial hub in India. The effects of liberalization of the Indian economy have energized the city’s economy towards tertiary sector activities such as commerce, communication and construction.
The construction of new international terminal to accommodate the growth was undertaken post 2021.
Highlights of this project were the skylights, drywalls having high reachable heights, and curved drywalls.
Design and technical support from Gyproc® enabled us to complete the project smoothly.

Key Challenges
- Roof structure was steel and drawings were not shared initially – challenge was to identify support points from Truss.
- Skylight was circular in shape & drop was >3m. Site inputs were shared with Gyproc team to help identify support areas.

- Good co-operation and support from Gyproc team
- Installation of skylights was challenging but together solution was developed and implemented on site.

- The airport has won awards for its sustainability and energy-efficiency efforts, including the Platinum Award in the Airport Sector at the SEEM Awards.
