Project description

This prestigious project involves the refurbishment and repurposing of the Leadership Pavilion at Expo City Dubai, host to world leaders during Expo 2020 Dubai and the 2023 COP28 climate conference, to expand its hospitality offering. Adjacent to Al Wasl Plaza in the heart of the city, the re-purposed Expo Leadership Pavilion 2 will offer 150 new contemporary one and two-bedroom boutique apartments, complete with balconies and fully equipped kitchens, operating under the highly respected Cheval Maison brand.

Key Challenges

Fast track project therefore all metal profiles were custom made.
Typical detail were developed for fire rated walls and FR ceiling termination especially where the MEP services were installed and areas with space constraint.
Existing walls and newly built wall designs were carefully studied and appropriate solutions were provided at few refurbished location.
Horizontal membrane ceiling system were proposed for high traffic areas mainly MEP services.
A combination of Gyproc Moisture Resistant plasterboard and Gyproc Habito plasterboard were used in certain areas where reqiuired an additional fixation capability.

As a result of good relationship with the Main contractor and Gyproc – the systems were designed specific to site conditions and both production and installations were carried out within the challenging time constraints.
Taking an extra mile in providing procurement solutions for the customer and timely on site service and support
No Compromise on Safety despite any challenges roughly around 500,000 safety man hours without a LTI

Sustainability in the project

The Expo Leadership pavilion project has been accredited LEED GOLD Certification
Adequate PPE’s were provided to all workers including N90 graded masks to protect themselves from dust and smoke
Air quality devices and machine were installed in few areas to maintain a good working condition for the workers
All project stakeholders on site, ensured to implement safe systems of work and provided the latest safe tools, equipment, PPE and materials to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
