Project description

The façade has been executed with the Placotherm® Integra façade system, providing the institution with high thermal insulation and thus improving its energy efficiency. This system incorporated the Glasroc® X curved to provide a modern and innovative style with excellent final finish. The interior linings have been made with the partition system formed by Habito® plate, which provides maximum load capacity without reinforcements additional, and arena APTA mineral wool insulation, providing high performance thermal and acoustic that have increased the comfort of the occupants.

Key Challenges

The connection between the old building and the new building
• Both the new building and the old building had to be connected to each other, both functionally and aesthetically, in order to facilitate the movement of students from one classroom to another.
Higher resistance in interiors
• Habito® and Placo® PIP plasterboards are ideal for use in educational buildings as they provide high impact resistance and allow furniture to be anchored to them.

Key Achievements

New modern aesthetics
• The curved shapes and the metallic skin give it a more modern and innovative image, complementing the two buildings in a single space.
Complete Placo® and Isover systems in exteriors and interiors
• The Placotherm® Integra façade system is a lightweight solution that provides maximum performance against external impact, giving extra protection to the school’s envelope, as well as improving the building’s thermal insulation.

Sustainability in the project

Better thermal and acoustic comfort for the students
• All the internal partitions included arena APTA mineral wool as insulation, improving thermal and acoustic conditions. This is extremely important in schools and institutes, to provide a comfort space where the students can concentrate better, without any noise transfer from one classroom to another.
