Complex: Hotel Materra and International Medical Center Priora

Croatia CroatiaContractors: Interijeri Buden d.o.o.

Project description

The project is conceived as a complex of a special hospital where even the most complex procedures are performed, and a hotel that serves the hospital and the wider community through the promotion of the region’s gastronomic offer, as the investor is the largest food producer in Croatia.
We found appropriate project solutions that met the technical requirements and were in line with the budget. The solutions included various products from the Saint-Gobain range, such as Rigips® plasterboards and Isover insulation for walls, Glasroc® X for outside and pools aplications, Ecophon ceilings solutions including Fade™ acoustic plaster, Gabelex metal ceilings as well as Weber solutions.

Owner’s testimonial
Marko Pipunić
In 1992, he founded “Žito,” a company focused on trading arable crops and supplying materials necessary for crop production. When the business started, it had two employees, a capital of 50,000 euros, and an annual revenue of approximately half a million euros.Over the years, he carefully expanded his company by acquiring bankrupt enterprises and silos.Today, he owns nearly the entire former Industrial-Agricultural Complex of Osijek, PPK Valpovo, PPK Orahovica, seven large silos and mills, the Osijek sugar refinery, and in 2013, he acquired the Čepin Oil Factory.
Architect’s testimonial
Jelena Kapraljević
We highlighted that the architectural signature of Prior and Materra comes from architect Jelena Kapraljević, an employee of the Žito Group. Of course, much credit goes to her in every sense for that part of the story, but she did not accomplish it alone. The architects who provided the conceptual design of the hotel did so in an excellent manner, respecting functionality, clarity, and simplicity of lines, as well as incorporating an interesting detail. In Prior, each operating room has a window, and even a brief view of the Slavonian plains through it means a great deal to the doctors who spend hours in these spaces fully dedicated to highly demanding and exhausting surgeries.
Saint-Gobain Project Manager’s testimonial
Bojan Borko
It was challenging to follow the ideas and visions of architects and investors but with our multi-branding solutions and materials, we successfully applicated and created the environment following their technical requirements and aesthetics.
