Project description

A single-story modern luxury home designed as a newlywed residence that offers over 400 square meters of living space. Located in a prime area, the property faces constraints related to noise, dust, cleanliness, speed and logistics. To overcome these challenges, the homeowners adopted an innovative dry construction solution. A pre-designed steel structure was paired with drywall solutions, assembled piece by piece on-site, resembling a LEGO-like process. This method enables quick construction, exceptional strength, durability, and significantly reduced dust and noise levels.

Key Challenges

Breaking free from traditional construction norms is a challenge that must be overcome through performance and sustainability solutions.
The house is built in a residential area, in proximity to existing houses and neighbors, and can not be built with heavy construction type due to the noise and dust that it will generate
The house is situated on top of soft soil and near the canal, which has the risk of soil erosion, hence restricting construction weight.
To refine acoustic efficiency and sustain a cozy, serene home in a prime location.
The tight time frame of construction of 5 months including interior decoration works means that heavy construction is impossible

Key Achievements

The combination of insulation and gypsums in the wall land ceiling enables the house to consume less electricity for air conditioning. Approximately 40% less than existing houses of similar size in the same area.
The key success factor was the application of a rain screen system consisting of Glasroc X and finishing materials to create a beautiful house yet can be built fast and highly accurately.
The complicated bathroom design was built relatively fast and the application of Glasroc H in the high moisture area allows ceramic tiles to be attached firmly without risk of slipping.
